Maxi Priest Joins UB40 On UK Tour

British Reggae legends UB40 have announced that British reggae star Maxi Priest will be joining their UK tour next month.

Maxi will join the band for all of the UK tour dates including their concerts at The NEC Arena on Thursday and Friday, December 20 and 21.

Widely regarded by his fans as the "King of Lovers Rock", Maxi's twenty year career remains as strong as ever, touring year after year across America, Africa, the UK, Japan and South America. His passionate live performances are a sight to behold, his music a joy to listen to, and a sound that resonates across many boundaries of age, race, religion and geography. His impressive career has amassed 10 albums and 14 Top 40 hits and this year sees Maxi working on his 11th studio album.

Demand for the UK tour continues as the reggae legends recently added four more shows on the tour including an extra date in their hometown at The NEC Arena.

UB40's Robin Campbell said: "We are delighted to have Maxi on the UK shows, he brings a real depth and energy to his shows and a great vibe."

UB40's live concerts and performances are spectacular and a truly memorable experience, their live performances have been perfected from 28 years of touring and performing around the globe. The Birmingham band, representative of a diverse and multi-cultural Britain, have sold more than 70 million records in their esteemed music career. They have secured no fewer than 17 UK Top 10 single chart placings, notched up an impressive 54 hit singles and at the same time scored an incredible three worldwide No 1's! They are also one of the very few British bands to have broken the US market.

The band are also currently in the studio writing and recording their new album, which is due for release early 2008.
