Rastafarians Worldwide Create Global Council

Rastafarian Orders worldwide has finally unified, creating The Ethio-African Diaspora Union Millenmium Council (EADUMC).

Launched on September 11, 2007, it was one of the most undertone moments in the history of the Rastafarian movement. But for those in attendance at the Livity Restaurant in the district of New Kingston, Jamaica it was a historic moment.

The objective of the newly formed council is to protect the cultural sovereignty and intellectual property of Rastafarians worldwide. In addition, the council over the next few years will create a standard portfolio for the spiritual principles of the movement, in order to create a transparent guideline for those interested in joining the Rastafarian order.

The council’s chairman-elect, Ras Junior Manning stated that the organization was a conglomeration of the 13 Tribal Orders within the Rastafarian movement, including;

The Ethiopian Orthodox Organisation, The House Of David(Camp David), The Ethiopian World Federation, Selassie Theocracy Government, The School of Vision, Royal Ethiopian Coptic Judah Church, The 12 Tribes Of Israel, Nyahbinghi Ancient Council, Leonard Howell Foundation and the International Peacemakers.

His first mandate as Council Chairman is to create a unified vision for The Rastafarian movement, which will aid in strengthen the Orders presence and voice on issues regarding repatriation and reparation.

Noted performers and Cultural icons, Tony Rebel and Sizzla Kalonji, were present at the council’s launch, and The Chairman-elect, lauded Sizzla for his support in making the concept of the council a reality.

Other noted members of the movement in attendance were, Tarrus Riley, King David, Barbara Blake Hannah and son Makonnen.
