      Dean Pauses Jamaican Music Industry

With the passing of hurricane Dean, Kingston and the rest of Jamaica is still reeling from the effects of the category 4 storm which has disrupted island wide utilities such as light and power with water provision still intact in some major metropolitan areas such as Kingston, Mandeville and Montego Bay.

In Kingston, specifically in the Studio City region of Eastwood Park Gardens which is home to over 20 studios and production companies operations were at a standstill. Along the main thoroughfare of Dumbarton Avenue, only the REBEL T Headquarters was in full swing with a 50KW power plant providing support to the compound which house a number of music service outlets.

The RiddimJamaica complex which in under development at Sutphin Avenue suffered minimal damage but construction will be halted for a few weeks until normalcy resumes in Kingston.

Events and stage shows have all been cancelled and promoters are searching for new dates raising the possibility that October could be one of the biggest event months for the year.
